New Moon Total Solar Eclipse in Leo 20º

On August 9, Mercury enters Leo until August 25. Break out into song! Confident public speaking! Bold expression! The planet of communication in the sign of Leo will add a boisterous flare to our exchanges. We are more inclined to speak with conviction and our minds will be more focused on creative or romantic endeavors. This Mercury joins the Sun, Jupiter, and the South Node all in the sign of Leo. That’s a lot of fire! The shadow of this position can create ego trips, or constantly redirect conversation back to the self. This position wants compliments and recognition, but can also provide that for others in spades if present and aware. Hype up your friends! Pursue a creative project, hobby, or social goal. Move the needle on personal and/or business goals. Post about it! Market! Promo! Mercury is direct and moving forward. This is a great time period for being seen! As far as the first day of this transit is concerned, on August 9 Mercury in Leo will square Chiron retrograde in Taurus at 0º. There may be an important conversation that motivates bolder self-expression; something another says stays stuck on our mind or something you need to get off your chest arises. Whatever initial conflict kicks off this transit, its tender and can be easy to take personally. That just might be the catalyst necessary to create a change in perspective, a shift in mindset. Try to look at the old hurts that words trigger. They are pointing toward what needs to change. 

On August 10, Venus in Libra will trine Pluto retrograde in Aquarius at 3º and oppose Neptune retrograde in Aries at 4º. Venus trine Pluto will trigger an urge for deeper connection in relationships, wanting to bond beyond current-level encounters. It will add some passion and intensity to an already busy sky. Don’t get lost. Venus opposite Neptune is the classic rose-colored glasses transit. Venus is strong in Libra, one of her signs of rulership. She is focused on partnership, equality, fairness, and the pleasure that comes from balance in relationships. Neptune retrograde in Aries is concerned with imagining a new self-hood. Its mission is self-oriented, and is concerned with finding the spiritual meaning associated with our authentic desires. On August 11, Venus will trine Uranus in Gemini at 5º. This encourages us to open to new possibilities in matters of pleasure, finance, and society. This is a moment where socializing in new circles or saying yes to the meeting is a good idea. Meet the moment with an open mind and important connections can be made. A good social flow that feels open, freeing, and exciting, but take care when it comes to important conversations. Clock the stance and positioning of those you encounter, as also on August 11, Mercury in Leo opposes Pluto retrograde in Aquarius at 3º creating intensity in debates. As Mars enters Cancer it will make a sextile with Chiron retrograde in Taurus at 0º on August 12, helping to kick off this transit with some emotional support. This is a day with motivation to investigate feelings, reflection of past wounds, and the ability to take a tender look at emotional patterns. And this will be a welcome support to the new Moon solar eclipse in Leo that will demand a release of old ways. Do not shy away from feelings that need to be faced.

Brand new beginnings are afoot! August 12 brings a new Moon total solar eclipse in Leo at 20º. A new Moon is always a time of seeding new intentions and new starts. When it is an eclipse, these themes can be exaggerated and intensified. What is no longer meant to continue becomes very clear. This is a South Node eclipse, revealing elements that are outdated and no longer aligned so that we can step into the new and next. Old ways of performing, seeking validation, and extravagance will be checked. New ways of presenting our unique authenticity will be invited and revealed. The voice of the inner child gets louder. What fears of being seen have not been confronted? How can you share your gifts and talents with the community, with the world, and without selling out? What are you passionate about?
