On August 28, Mercury in Virgo squares Uranus in Gemini at 5º. We are still under the influence of yesterday’s full Moon lunar eclipse in Pisces, where the veil between worlds has become very thin and long awaited endings have arrived with unexpected twists. Today’s Mercury/Uranus square will emphasize the element of surprise by way of information. Both Mercury and Uranus are in signs ruled by Mercury (Virgo and Gemini), the planet of information. This is very nerdy territory, great for unexpected findings in research, investigations, or niche problem solving, not great for calm and chill. The energy of this transit is erratic and unpredictable and it can be difficult to ground or slow the pace. Deep breaths are necessary. Our nervous systems can be fried. Squares incite action through a challenge or problem, so an issue may arise due to lack of information or the surprising arrival of pertinent details. Exchanges with others may be tense under this sky, as sensitivities are still running high with the Moon in Pisces. This lunar position may aid in the ability to receive information from other sources, especially through dreams. There is a push pull between just hitting send and checking the details. Would be wise to heavily consider the former over the latter this week, and certainly today.

Leo is the sign of self-expression and generosity, while Aries is the sign of personal will and desires. Jupiter, the planet of expansion and higher learning in a positive aspect with Saturn, the planet of structure and long-game goals is wonderful after many moody and uncertain days. Use this day to move forward in the ‘yes’ direction that has been revealed after the full Moon. What has ended? What remains? From what remains, what is worth building on? What is worth putting energy toward now? There can be some clarity on where to direct our ambitions today. Due to Saturn’s retrograde motion, this incredibly helpful transit will happen twice more over the year ahead. What you put energy towards now will grow - and sustain.
On September 1, Mars in Cancer squares Saturn retrograde in Aries at 13º. Also on September 1, Mercury in Virgo sextiles Mars in Cancer at 13º. A Mars/Saturn square is frustrating situation. A conflict between stop and go. Its like jumping on the highway to get to your destination faster, only to find the exit you needed was blocked, and now you’ll be late. Mars in Cancer has us feeling deeply sensitive about our desires, ambitions, and goals and is having a rough go at executing all that it wants to accomplish, as Mars is said to be in ‘fall’ in the sign of Cancer. Fortunately, today Mars will receive some support from Mercury, the planet of communication. So, while an emotionally impulsive action initiated by Mars may be blocked or restricted by Saturn, Mercury’s ability to help see other perspectives will soften the blow. Mercury in Virgo brings a very welcome practical logic to balance some of the emotional intensity of the moment. Unfortunately, Saturn does tend to win this battle, and there will be consequences for emotionally impulsive, immature, or inappropriate action taken. Patience is key today. Don’t get caught slippin’. Find an appropriate outlet to channel emotional energy - a swim, sweat, or long shower. Feel better? Saturn in Aries wants to mature our impulses, to make sure we spend our precious primal energy in ways that are sustainable. If something is blocked today, consider it a blessing despite frustrations.
