Big Week for Communication, Mercury Making Moves Again 

On September 12, Mercury in Virgo sextiles Jupiter in Cancer at 19º. Energetic communications come to the surface, moving energy through words, messaging, and intuitive ideas. This day favors the ability to combine intuition with practicality. Finding solutions. Out of the chaotic feelings of the recent full Moon, something makes sense today. Order and sorting of ideas. This is a very helpful day for important conversations. Mercury in Virgo is articulate and specific, but if void of compassion can become impatient and overly critical. Jupiter aids in our ability to exchange energy and messages with care and emotional awareness. 

On September 13, Mercury conjuncts the Sun at 20º of Virgo. Yesterday’s themes continue and compound as Mercury meets the Sun. Notorious ‘aha moment’ sort of a day. Information coming in hot. A lot to communicate and a lot to digest. Virgo in medical astrology rules the digestive system, and we are reminded of the ways in which our mental and physical health are symbiotic. News. Messages. Busyness. Check in with the body, not just the to-do list. 

On September 15, Venus in Leo sextiles Mars in Libra at 25º and on September 16, Venus in Leo trines Chiron in Aries at 26º, while Mars forms an opposition at the same degree. All of these transits are happening consecutively within minutes of a degree and really become the centerpiece of the week among Mercury’s productive movements. This is a beautiful thing. Venus the planet of relationships, finances, self worth, values etc. is supporting Mars in Libra’s aim for balance and harmony. As Libra is ruled by Venus, this is especially true within our one-on-one relationships. As Mars confronts Chiron, we must face an old wound about who we are in partnership vs. alone. Venus is helping both opponents (Mars/Chiron) find the key to progress in matters of healing. New compromises can be written today, as understanding evolves around deeper desires and needs required for harmony. 

On September 17, Mercury in Virgo opposes Saturn retrograde in Pisces at 29º. This is where all that great flow of communication hits a serious pot hole. We are called to revisit the themes of the most recent full Moon lunar eclipse in Pisces that occurred on September 7, but this time, from a Mercurial perspective. Saturn is president of the karmic clean up crew in Pisces. In a standoff with Mercury, outdated thoughts, contacts, and language will be very loud. Frustration around travel is possible. Words hit a serious tone. A mental pattern is no longer applicable or allowed to continue. The end of a contract. Difficult conversations, or the awareness that they are near. 

On September 18, Mercury enters Libra until October 6. Mercury will then immediately oppose Neptune in Aries at 0º. Mercury in Libra brings our mental focus to relational matters. We care a  little bit more about how our words are being perceived than usual. The strength of Mercury in Libra is tact and diplomacy. Great for mediating, Mercury in Libra can fairly see many sides to a conflict, and usually will aid in conflict resolution without burning any bridges. Neptune’s presence, however, adds haze and confusion to what might normally be a straightforward pitch. Just like yesterday but for different reasons, communications are likely to be difficult, misleading, and fraught with delusion.
