Election Week, Mars Opposite Pluto

On October 31, Mercury in Scorpio forms a trine to Neptune retrograde in Pisces at 27º bringing in an energy of compassion and empathy to our thoughts, words and the day’s interactions. This is a beautiful aspect that aids creative expression. Artists, musicians, and especially vocalists and speakers are well starred for impactful performances. Conversations about touchy topics can be successfully breeched. Depth of connection found through emotionally intelligent delivery. 

We begin the month of November with a powerful new Moon in Scorpio at 9º, met with yet another lunation steeped in themes of both endings and beginnings. New moons are a time in which seeds are planted. The sky is dark, the energies are fertile, and we are encouraged to state intentions of what we would like to call into our world in the coming cycle. This is a great new Moon for this ritual, as the Moon makes a supportive trine to Saturn retrograde in Pisces at 12º. Trines are beneficial and help to ease the energy between two planets. With Saturn involved, intentions we state have incredible support for manifestation, for success, and for the long term. Mercury in Scorpio is also forming a trine with Mars in Cancer at this time. If we can get quiet, meditate and listen to what is stirring within, although the feelings may be incredibly intense, the feelings are revealing the very roots of what we wish to invite in. Intuition is sharp. We are wildly supported by the planets when it comes to uncovering the truth of our intentions now. Get quiet. Face what comes to the surface.  

On November 2, the Trine between Mercury in Scorpio and Mars in Cancer at 29º is still active, just a day before Mars faces off with Pluto. Intense conversations are happening now that reveal the truth about a matter at hand. Monumental life shifts that we can feel rapidly approaching are being addressed now. Things that were overlooked or hidden come to light and we are faced with confronting what is revealed. Mercury moves on to enter Sagittarius just a few hours later and as the day goes on we are able to see the big picture, or at least some other options that may be available with a bit more optimism.  

Although it has been energetically palpable for over a week, on November 3, Mars in Cancer makes its exact opposition to Pluto in Capricorn at 29º and we are likely to see both personal and world events reflect this intensely confrontational energy on or around this date. Mars rules over war and Pluto over destruction, Mars in the sign of Cancer, the sign of patriotism, will be triggered to defend feelings, roots, family and tribe. But Mars is no match for Pluto, the planet that has been crumbling long outdated power structures in the name of our personal and collective evolution since 2008. These are high trigger times with folks not wanting to back down on their stance, pressed to find compromise. Cardinal signs (Aries/Libra and Cancer/Capricorn) will be most effected, especially those with later degree placements. Power dynamics are facing off today in a big way that is likely karmic and rooted in history and past events. The outcomes will affect the way forward for all parties involved. Great timing for a consequential election this week, no? 

Later on November 3, Mars continues on and enters the sign of Leo. Mars is powerfully placed when in the sign of Leo. Whereas in Cancer, Mars had a more defensive approach, in Leo, Mars does not hesitate when matters of the heart are conjured, our motives are passionately fueled and turned into bold action. Fortunately, on the same day, Venus in Sagittarius forms a helpful trine to Chiron retrograde in Aries at 20º and we are reminded that when we choose to move through loving actions, we can heal wounds of past experiences where we did not have the courage to act on our own individual truths. 

On November 4, the Sun in Scorpio will trine Saturn retrograde at 12º. This aspect is favorable for finding solutions to recent problems that have surfaced, and assures that there are tools and rewards available when we do the work it takes to problem solve and persevere. However in water signs, the work is not always of a physical nature. Feelings are extreme in these times. There is a lot of noise. Quiet the mind. The heart knows the way.
