Fire Sign Activations, Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius
The Sun enters Sagittarius on November 21-December 21, bringing some optimism and curiosity to what have likely been heavy starts to new transitions. As the season begins today, the Sun enters a supportive sextile with Pluto in Aquarius at 0º. Planets have changed signs and entered new territories, and we are being encouraged to check out the new digs. Sagittarius season is a time for exploration of our beliefs and all of the possibilities life has to offer, while Pluto, freshly in Aquarius wants us to start innovating. This day has support for leaning into a new confidence or power in the self has been recently discovered. A moment that activates agency. Although this season encourages us to go our own way overall, it is wise to remain flexible and to keep a very open mind, as this Sagittarius season welcomes a Mercury retrograde in just a few short days. We will be revisiting some pathways we’ve already traveled, perhaps many, many times before.
On November 22, Venus in Capricorn forms a sextile with Saturn in Pisces at 12º. This is a stable purchase. A reliable step in relationships. Something in matters of the heart and or finances that reflect our current values. Or so we think…
Mercury stations retrograde on November 25 at 22º Sagittarius and we will be reviewing belief systems and grand ideas until December 15th. Mercury in Sagittarius is great for the big picture, not great for the details. Plans will change. Travels can be delayed. Words have a hard time landing exactly as intended. Things will look very different after December 15, and then even more so when Mercury finally clears the path of its shadow on January 2, 2025. It is likely that whatever is being reviewed has some roots to reference from on or around November 7, when Mercury first entered the path it will retrace during the retrograde period. What happened around that time that triggered a series of events, conversations, mental questioning, or a change of heart? Topics and themes from this time are being reviewed and recalibrated repeatedly between now and the first week of January. Sagittarius energy quests far and wide for the truth. It can be difficult to arrive at stable answers before this time.
Late in the evening on November 26-27, the Sun in Sagittarius forms a grand trine to Mars in Leo and the North Node in Aries at 5º. Both the Sun and Mars are also forming sextiles to the South Node. Karmic release point. Fated action. Inspired impulse. A bold creative channel. An ambitious drive to persevere through any recent obstacles and handle business with an impact. The opportunity to act from a primal driven force towards important lifetime goals or to answer a karmic call. A grand trine in fire signs connects us to our desires, passions, primal instincts, sexuality, drama, expression, playfulness, etc. Pay attention to the events that play out today. They have great potential to be significant markers in the larger Mercury retrograde story that is unfolding, as well as the upcoming Mars retrograde story (yes, more retrogrades). Don’t be shocked when similar themes resurface.
