Unexpected Surprises, Welcome Gemini Season

On May 17, the Sun conjuncts Uranus at 27º of Taurus. This aspect is sometimes known as the “most surprising day of the year” by some astrologers because the Sun highlights whatever planet it meets up with, and Uranus is the planet of unexpected occurrences, innovation, rebellion, and breakthrough. In the sign of Taurus, this could represent unexpected resources, materials, money, etc. being lost or found. Circumstances may prove to us that we value a person/place/thing/situation a little bit more than we thought, and we may be surprised by what we discover to be true. This meet up invites energy that illuminates unlikely ideas or bizarre and out of the box thinking that creates situations we hadn’t planned for. Because this conjunction is occurring in the sign of Taurus, the shock value of Uranus may be more muted than if for example, this conjunction occurred in a fire or air sign, however, this is the last meet up for the Sun and Uranus in the sign of Taurus for another 84 years. So, shock is still on the docket, as Uranus finishes up its time in Taurus and will move into the sign of Gemini this July. Wouldn’t put it past him, Uranus may indeed go out with a bang. In the collective, this is usually tied to an unexpected financial crisis or resources becoming overstocked or completely unavailable. The crazy thing is, whatever unlikely turn of events occur, they are propelling us forward to new chapters on our individual and collective paths. Instability coming to the surface. A wake up call. A boom. A breakthrough. Stay on your toes. Be open to innovation, upgrades, and unconventional moves.

On May 18, Jupiter in Gemini sextiles Chiron in Aries at 25º. We are invited to engage with what needs to be healed, and by doing so today we can learn and grow for the better. Sextiles offer aid and support, but only if we are able to take a step into the offering and engage with the lessons at hand. The wounds that may surface are those of Aries’ domain, dealing with individuality, confidence, libido, courage and autonomy. It is easier than usual to understand other perspectives, and those within ourselves that we may have ignored. A day to lean into inner work, healing work. Say yes to an opportunity to grow.

On May 20, the Sun in Taurus sextiles Saturn  in Pisces at 29º and later that day, moves into the sign of Gemini until June 20. Welcome Gemini season! A season ruled by Mercury, the mind, curiosity, learning, and a whole lot of questions. Gemini is adaptable, mutable, and social, and this energy may have us all open to more mingling and networking with new people and ideas. The sextile to Saturn at the top of the season is helpful, as it adds a dash of temperance and a little dose of patience that Gemini isn’t especially known for but can certainly benefit from. Not everything needs to get figured out all at once, but the forward momentum does feel exciting. Invite new experiences. Follow curiosity. Collect information. Take local trips and invite domestic or short distance travel. Walk the neighborhood on a whim. Talk to people. Ask the question. Ask another.
