Astrology for June 19-25 2025

Summer Solstice, New Moon in Cancer

ree

June 20 welcomes the Summer Solstice as the Sun moves into the sign of Cancer until July 22. A season of honoring the feminine, children, families, communities, and our closest emotional connections. Cancer is also tied to themes of motherhood, mothering, home and country, patriotism, nationalism, and all matters of roots and ancestry. These themes have already jumped in volume since Jupiter recently entered Cancer on June 9, but will continue to gain prominence and trigger sensitivities as the Sun makes aspects to other planets in the next few days. As the season turns, the Solstice is a major shift point. Cancer is a cardinal sign, highlighting a forward momentum and initiating change. Changes in the way we relate emotionally to ourselves and others are under the spotlight this month. Take care to notice the subtleties, the waves of feelings below the surface, how they move. Remember that sometimes the most productive choice is a nap.

On June 21, Mercury in Cancer trines the North Node in Pisces at 22º. Mercury, ruler of the mind, mental processes, and the style in which we communicate forming an easy and positive aspect to the nodes of fate can open forms of psychic communication, heightened intuition, a helpful knowing. We can be more inclined to open our hearts, have compassion, share experiences with one another with empathy and nurturance. There is an important message or realization that occurs today about what we must communicate, what next step we must take on our destined paths, and what we must leave behind. Stay open to learning. Look for what is flowing to point the way. Listen to intuitive hits.

On June 22, the Sun in Cancer squares Saturn in Aries at 1º and on June 23, the Sun in Cancer squares Neptune in Aries at 2º. This can feel difficult and disorienting. On the one hand, Saturn is confrontational with tests of ego, perseverance, and a situation that requires a lot of work to complete. Demands and responsibilities can appear to pile up, blocking us from the ease and rest we crave. On the other hand, Neptune may make it difficult to see exactly the best approach for all of these tall orders. This is a cocktail for overwhelm that can lead to burnout or escapism. Fortunately, the Sun has the help of Jupiter, and if we are open to learning about how to grow and mature our sense of self, we will be able to navigate through much of the crunch.

On June 24, Mercury in Cancer squares Chiron in Aries at 26º. A day for easy triggers. Our feelings are really driving the bus here, and we may abandon tact if we need to communicate about something that hurts. On a positive level, this day initiates change in new perspectives on past wounds and the greater healing journey we have been on around self confidence and inner knowing. This is the lowest energy day of the lunar cycle, and we are in Cancer season, the sign that rules the Moon. If you have the opportunity to rest, lay low, rot, reflect, listen to internal cues, I highly recommend it today.

However, making that choice may be difficult because also on June 24, the Sun conjuncts Jupiter in Cancer at 3º. Jupiter emphasizes and expands any energy it comes into contact with and generally, the Sun/Jupiter is social, boisterous, generous, and vital. Through the lens of Cancer energy, this conjunction will expand emotional bonds, amplify learning around emotional patterns, and heighten emotional content in general. This aspect is also one of the luckiest in astrology, and can offer great fortune to those that follow their heart with some intention to grow. The day can trigger sensitivities, but if we can meet the circumstances with gentleness and the care to really listen to the roots of what is going on, fortune will find us.

All of that reflection can now be channeled into the next cycle. On June 25, we have a new Moon in Cancer at 4º and we are ready to plant seeds of intention around what we desire to grow in our emotional lives. Feel deeply into what truly nurtures you. What feels like care? What feels like home? Conjunct Jupiter, square Saturn/Neptune, it is time to dream your biggest dreams. Take a step toward the vision with commitment from the heart. Watch it all begin to grow in the coming weeks and months ahead.
