Full Moon in Capricorn, Saturn Retrograde
July 10 brings the full Moon in Capricorn at 18º. The Moon forms a sextile to the North Node in Pisces at 20º, a trine to the South Node in Virgo at 20º, and a wide trine to Mars in Virgo at 13º. As the full Moon forms harmonious aspect to the nodes, we are encouraged to tie up loose ends. We are supported in arriving at completions, culminations, and conclusions that have some weight in moving us forward. However, the ruler of this full Moon, Saturn, is barely moving at this time, as it prepares to station retrograde in just two days. This can signify that endings, although supported, are delayed or slowed. We can feel the weight of responsibilities and tasks that must be taken care of, yet frustrated by the pace, timing, or process. Like at every full Moon, feelings are heightened, and this time they may be pointing to the care we need to give ourselves for better balance in inner vs. outer life. We cannot abandon the persistent work required to reach our goals in the 3D world, yet with out balance of care for our physical and emotional bodies, deeper listening to the other realms, and room for nuance, we become energetically stagnant and burnt out. Overall, this full Moon is an illumination of the work that lies ahead in moving towards new chapters, both internally and externally.
On July 12, Saturn in Aries stations retrograde at 1º, still holding a conjunction with Neptune retrograde in Aries at 2º. With both a full Moon and outer planets changing direction, there is a lot of weighty energy to this weekend. The Moon will be in Aquarius today, promoting some much needed emotional detachment and birds-eye-view of the circumstances in our lives. There can be an intense contemplation about what needs to be organized in order to reach our current and future goals. We are in a pocket of very business-focused energy here, and frivolous activities or attempts to escape commitments will be difficult to agree to. The task of deep introspection is in order no matter what external responsibilities tug on our patience. Handle business. Do not ignore internal cues and feelings.
On July 13-14, the Moon moves into Pisces and immediately squares Uranus in Gemini at 0º. Although lunar aspects pass quickly just over the span of a few hours, other minor motions in the sky, such as Mercury in Leo applying a square to Juno in Scorpio at 16º, the asteroid of commitments and contracts, it is safe to say that the rest of the week invites some discomfort and unexpected feelings as we try to navigate the aftermath of the full Moon. What is our plan? How can we communicate with care to our partners about our findings? Not every detail will be revealed, and not everyone that demands information on our plan of action will be satisfied by what we share. However, the Moon does meet the North Node in Pisces at 19º later in the day. We can receive revealing downloads from our emotional fields should we find the time to be alone and listen.
On July 16, the Moon moves on to conjunct Neptune retrograde and Saturn retrograde in early Aries. More of the same weighty energy here. Moon meeting these outer planets can create feelings of isolation and loneliness in whatever we are dealing with. These days that follow the full Moon and Saturn retrograde are potentially emotionally complicated. Let’s remember to give grace to each other while we sort out feelings, downloads, and plans for the way forward. Don’t forget about optimism, options, and sudden unpredictable changes brewing with Uranus in Gemini in the background. We are positioned to continue organizing present energies and releasing what does not serve our goals as we move towards the upcoming new Moon in Cancer on July 24.
