Astrology for December 5-11 2025

Sun and Venus in Sagittarius Square the Nodes of Fate 

Let’s remember that we are beginning this week’s horoscope coming off of the full Moon in Gemini that was exact on December 4 and emotions and sensitivities - especially to words - will still be running high. 

On December 5, the Sun in Sagittarius squares the North Node in Pisces and the South Node in Virgo at 13º. This is where the big talks and important conversations that were illuminated under the full Moon continue and find consequence. Today, we are met with the energy of a major choice point, a big decision, perhaps based on the information that has surfaced since Mercury went direct on November 29. What has been interfering with our ability to go after our desires, higher goals, and life mission? Have we been moving in a direction that is authentic to the self? Sun square the Nodes is an aspect that challenges our identity and self-expression. In Sagittarius, we are likely to choose whatever option allows for the most personal freedom. Our evolutionary direction is calling, pulling us to the next level, next challenge, next exploration. Whatever we are deciding at this time is absolutely consequential and directs the way forward. 

On December 6, Mercury in Scorpio trines Jupiter retrograde in Cancer at 24º. After a few intense days of impactful realizations, this transit is very helpful. We have a sense of flow and ease between the planet of communication and the planet of expansion and growth. This is a great day to exchange ideas, suggest edits and options to agreements, and move through conversations with a general compassion and enthusiasm. We have a much higher tolerance today for long winded rants and big ideas. Open minds can find solutions and even some humor on heavy or emotionally triggering topics. 

On December 7, Mercury in Scorpio trines Saturn in Pisces at 25º. Another productive conversation day. Talks now can find practicality, grounding, and logical application. Communicate your plan. Be deliberate. Where do you want to see a tangible outcome? 

Here’s where it gets tricky. On December 8, Mars in Sagittarius squares Saturn in Pisces at 25º. This aspect is a classic ‘one foot on the gas but the other on the brake’ kind of feeling. Energized and ready to move on with momentum (Mars), but there is still something that isn’t quite ready and more work yet to be handled before take off (Saturn). Logically, we may have it all well-done and figured out, but Saturn is pointing toward the holes in our half-cooked methodology, reminding us that what appears on the surface is not all that needs to be accounted for. We can be feeling sick of being stuck or burdened by responsibilities that seem to only prolong and deepen our yearning for a sense of joy and freedom, but Saturn reminds us that there are no shortcuts, and the work must also be checked off from the unseen realms. This is a day for temperance. Avoid impulsive action, as consequences are likely to be harsh in this position. Think about what is blocking you and look a layer deeper at your own avoidance or escapism. What needs to be taken care of in the non-physical realm?

On December 10, Mercury in Scorpio will oppose Uranus retrograde in Taurus at 28º. Think back to the last time this happened on October 29 when this opposition occurred in Sagittarius/Gemini. What was happening around that time? What was being discussed? What was on your mind? These are the two planets concerned with mental activities and we can have unexpected information surface out of left field that may harken to the previous opposition. A sudden development that puts a past stand-off in perspective. Regardless if the day’s events connect to a previous confrontation, they are likely to be surprising to say the least. Let things unfold despite chaotic energy. Be ready to pivot. 

On December 11, Venus in Sagittarius squares the North Node in Pisces and the South Node in Virgo. Fated relationship decisions. Tensions in matters of the heart reach a crossroad between past commitments and present desires. Venus is tied to matters of self-love, sense of self-worth, our finances, our values, and how we find pleasure in exploring how to sample those experiences. Will we choose to stay stuck in past karmic patterns of self-sacrifice (South Node in Virgo)? Or choose to surrender to faith in a higher love (North Node in Pisces)? The Moon is moving through the South Node’s sign of Virgo, and they even make a conjunction just as this Venus square exacts, making the past patterns, past relationships, past karmic choices very loud and emotionally present. Will familiarity be enough to keep us in the old karmic loop? Or could this be the moment we finally make a new choice and break free? We are faced with our own agency and free will now. No matter how the chips fall, a choice will be made.
