Closures and Endings, New Moon in Capricorn
On December 26, Mercury in Sagittarius opposes Jupiter retrograde in Gemini at 13º while in a square to Saturn in Pisces at 14º. Words get checked. Information gets challenged. Conversations that need to happen, happen today and around this date. We are urged to consider other belief systems, perspectives and philosophies of those around us, even if we are uncomfortable or unimpressed. Saturn in Pisces reminds us that being selective with our information and practicing boundaries with what we share may be important to implement at this time. If you have been avoiding a conversation that needs to be had, this day will push buttons about it.
On December 27, Venus in Aquarius squares Uranus retrograde in Taurus at 23º. This can be exciting if you need out of a rut with social endeavors and want to try something new. Something spontaneous can pop up that isn’t normally your go-to and saying yes may surprise you - or it may confirm exactly why you don’t swing that way. Whatever unexpected happenings unfold today, they are helping us all update our preferences and most importantly, our values. This aspect occurring with the Mercury/Jupiter square Saturn situation can make things a little more tense than usual. People, partners, friends, onlookers may not like our choices. The Moon is also in Scorpio at the beginning of the day adding moody accents, not helpful for being agreeable. Later in the day when the moon moves into Sagittarius, there is more optimism and ability to go our own way. Things don’t go as planned. Where are you holding too fixed to an expectation or an outcome? Why not try something new? Changes in attractions.
On December 29, Chiron stations direct at 19º Aries. A planet changing directions holds more power than at other times in its cycle. There is a focus today on how we are living our truth, expressing our autonomy, exercising our will, asserting our needs, etc. and reflecting on how we have improved on these matters throughout the year. With a trine to Mercury in Sagittarius exact on December 31, we could have a spark of confidence to speak up on something we have a strong opinion about. Don’t abandon compassion.
December 30 brings the New Moon in Capricorn at 9º and Pluto in Aquarius sextile the North Node in Aries at 1º. Powerful conclusions on the year that lead to initiating new starts. Support is on offer for our completions, the parts of our lives that we have outgrown. It’s time for new plans on how to achieve new goals. Contemplative time. What needs to be done so the old chapters can complete? What responsibilities are you holding onto that are unnecessary for where you are going? Reassessment of how we spend our energies. What will bring peace and stability? A lot of massive shifts are right around the corner and some occur during this lunar cycle where we will be asked to consider our own needs and desires verses those of others through a long-term lens. Wrapping up loose ends. Deep reflections. Rest while the energy is low now, to ground and find what truly resonates with your path. Future forward. Time is speeding up.
