Welcome Capricorn Season, Reality Hits
On December 19, Venus in Aquarius trines Jupiter retrograde in Gemini at 14º. This is easygoing, pleasurable. We are invited to indulge here in things that feel good. Both planets are in air signs, suggesting this is (finally) a good time to have conversations that have been stressed or pressing. We have the opportunity for ideas to flow with ease now. Talking it out, sharing our opinions, can feel good now. We are inclined to be more open than usual about considering and discussing our options. This is also a lot of positive social energy, encouraging us to go out, mingle and connect with people. Networking is favored. Say yes to the outing.
Solstice time. On December 21, the Sun moves into Capricorn. Capricorn season pulls focus on stability, ROI, integrity, and what we can or cannot count on for the long haul. We are reflecting on our past, present, and future goals and what it may take to achieve them. Status and achievements are also in focus. What do we want to be known or remembered for? This season is ruled by Saturn, the planet dedicated to hard work, consistency, commitments and maturity. Saturn is in the sign of Pisces at this time. Where have we skirted responsibilities or evaded commitments? Where are the boundaries we have created not so secure? Where are the holes in the boat? Time to tighten it up. This season will have us take an honest look at these themes until January 19.
On December 23, the Sun in Capricorn squares the North Node in Aries and the South Node in Libra at 2º. Squares to the nodes suggest a fated conflict, a choice that must be made that decides the next move forward. The Sun in Capricorn wants stability and a sure bet, and the nodes are finishing up a 2.5 year cycle of upgrading our relationships, both to self and others. Relationships may be the source of a conflict or challenge today. The Sun suggests whatever choice is to be made must consider the long game, not just the present moment. The Sun also desires to shine and express itself. We are closing relationships and patterns of relating where parts of the self are hidden or stifled - or the flip, where ego desires drive our choices. The long game requires integral and authentic expression, especially within relationships. Reality check. A get real with yourself moment. Is the foundation you are building real and integral? A choice that directs course.
On December 24, Jupiter retrograde in Gemini squares Saturn in Pisces at 14º. The last time this aspect happened was on August 19, 2024. At that time, Saturn was retrograde and Jupiter was direct. Think back to late August and what was happening around that time. This is a major check-in, adjustments are needing to be made now. Did we dream too big? Now that life has unfolded and reality revealed, what do we need to do to adjust our dreams, goals and the expectations we have around achieving them? (Heads up: The next time this aspect will hit is on June 15, 2025 with Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Aries.) There is a tension felt between wanting to move forward and how exactly to do that. Mars, the planet of taking action and getting things done is still retrograde. Slow and steady moves are favored. Expand consideration for new opportunities, new approaches, but don’t bet the farm.
