Astrology for December 12-18 2024

Full Moon in Gemini, Mercury Direct in Sagittarius

Frisky and flirty or combative and ready to fight? A fine line some might say, and sometimes walking that line is a fun game to play. On December 12, Venus in Aquarius opposes Mars retrograde in Leo at 6º. Sexual tension is high. Venus has the energetic upper hand in this standoff, inviting Mars to lean into his retrograde form. Where can we soften? Try a new thing. Look at an issue objectively from a new vantage point. Despite the fixed nature of these signs, is compromise possible? There is a lot of chemistry in the air, but a new layer of attraction can surface when we don’t force an agenda or an outcome from a place of ego desires. It gets extra messy if we choose an old pattern now. Channel the energy. What does the heart say? 

On December 14, the Moon in Gemini will square Saturn in Pisces at 13º. Hard feelings can weigh heavy and tough to process now. We may feel blocked from expressing emotion in some way, but as the Moon grows full so do the feelings, and express them we must. Pent up words. Is it safe to say them? We may not mean all that needs to be said just so we can move emotional energy. A journal, a safe friend, a voice memo, find a healthy vent. Listen back and see what feels true. Remember, two things can be true at the same time.

Early in the morning on December 15, the Moon becomes full in Gemini at 23º. A few hours later, the Moon squares Neptune at 27º of Pisces. The fuzz and confusion of Neptune is unhelpful in trying to get answers from our feelings. The magic Neptune does offer however, is surrender. All Gemini energy wants to do is ‘figure it out’ and solve the problem, and get to the next thing. When confronted by Pisces the focus d i s s o l v e s. What problem? Where? What are those? Let yourself be m u s h. Not because the issues we face are not real or important, but because it is damn near impossible to solve them effectively right now. 

Also on December 15, Mercury stations direct in Sagittarius at 6º and here we do arrive at some sort of conclusion or are met with some sort of answer from the events that transpired in early November - but can we trust it under this sky? Maybe. But better to wait and see what remaining information surfaces on January 2, when Mercury finally clears its retrograde shadow. Also, Mars the planet of doing shit is still retrograde, so taking the chill pill instead of forcing a way… how many planets have to point us in this same direction right now? Wow. 

Sick of the fuzz? Hope not, because here it is again, people. On December 18, the Sun in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces at 27º. The tension between the known and the unknown is thick. This can push us to choose escapism to cope. Find healthy outlets like art, music, meditation, etc. The unhealthy outlets like substances or indulging in illusion and fantasy will be very tempting, but will take us deeper into Neptune’s sea of confusion. Clarity is on the way, but it’s not here now despite what we may be convinced of. Patience. Surrender. Avoid abusing substances that are ungrounding. Ride the waves. Have faith in the divine timing of your life.
