Full Moon in Aquarius, Mercury Direct in Leo
This is a powerful week. Although the outer planets are not hitting aspects exactly, they are so close at this time, creating a backdrop of intensity for the inner planetary conversations. Inspiration is running high. Here is the technical note: Those aspects include Uranus in Gemini sextile Saturn and Neptune retrograde in Aries at 1º, Pluto retrograde in Aquarius at 2º sextile Saturn and Neptune retrograde in Aries at 1º, while a grand air trine forms between Mars in Libra, Uranus in Gemini, and Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. (For my astrology nerds, when two sextiles point to the same apex planet while also being involved in a grand trine, we have what is known as a Kite formation.) This is a signature that is potent for immense change - especially with heavy hitting outer planets involved - and it is this week that we are invited to step into new vibrations of our individual and collective paths ahead as we reach important culminations. This Kite formation is with us all week, influencing our willingness to embrace the new and next, the path unfolding.
August 9 brings the full Moon in Aquarius at 17º. We may see something come to fruition in the area of our charts ruled by Aquarius. It is Leo season, so generally speaking this can be a very creatively fulfilling time. We can see creative projects come to fruition, or the culmination of certain friendships or social contacts. Although the Moon is largely un-aspected by major planets, the aforementioned Kite, as well as Mercury retrograde are really directing the energies at this time in impactful ways. We are being asked to embrace a part of our uniqueness now that finally has a place at our table. This culmination can feel intense, as if something we worked very hard to express can finally find a way through. And because Mercury retrograde (also in Leo) is at a stand-still from our vantage point on Earth as it prepares to station direct in two days, a lot is riding on what we feel needs to be expressed - to ourselves, to our partners, to our canvases, to the world, etc. We feel drawn to the openings, the inspiration, the creativity, and ready to rumble, yet the pace in reality may not match the intensity of our inner fire. Although likely frustrating, this tempering of pace is a gift.
On August 11, Mercury stations direct in Leo at 4º. Scan over the happenings of last three weeks, when Mercury stationed retrograde on July 17. Communications pull a lot of focus today. We may receive news we’ve been waiting on. We could finally feel like we ourselves know the answer to a question we’ve been ruminating over from this span of time (and even pertaining to matters dating way back in November 2024, when Mars opposed Pluto in this part of the sky). The station is not exactly opposite Pluto, but close enough to add notes of intensity and transformation. This adds a lot more punch to news, messages, and exchanges at this time. The station direct day for Mercury is often just as glitchy as the station retrograde day with regard to schedules, typos, miscommunications and tech devices. If you feel you have arrived at some sort of answer or conclusion and have the patience to wait for smoother skies, even just waiting until tomorrow may help whatever needs to be expressed land more effectively.
Okay lover boys and girls this one’s for you. On August 12, Venus conjuncts Jupiter in Cancer at 14º. This is one of the most benevolent, joyful, possibly romantic, pleasurable, etc. aspects that can occur. Venus rules relationships and Jupiter our higher learning and expansion, and when they meet today in the sign of Cancer, we can be very inspired to say yes to invitations, offers, proposals, etc. We are leaning in, we are going out, we are following good feels and interested in emotional connections that expand our experiences. Good food, cuddles, creature comforts, people that feel like home - dig in where your heart and your nervous system are both calm, inspired, and turned on. Pisces risings, go buy a lottery ticket. For the rest of us, this is an important day to notice what feels like a YES.
